ARE YOU A LABAN?
The Laban Syndrome by John Bendixen has blessed me immensely, prompting me to turn back to God and say, “Thank You, Lord, for saving me from myself. Thank You for planting me in a church where I can grow, develop, be challenged by Your Word, and receive the uncompromising TRUTH of the Word of God.”
This book has led me to reflect deeply on my own life and apply the scripture found in 2 Corinthians 13:5 during my time of introspection:
Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith. (2 Corinthians 13:5 NLT)
The Holy Spirit has revealed areas in my life where the Laban Syndrome operates, showing me where I need to take authority and speak the Word of God to align with Jesus’ ways.
Another deep impact from reading this book is the realization of the enormous blessing I’ve received by being planted in the local church where God intends for me to learn, grow, and develop according to His plan. I am, and will forever be, grateful for the spiritual leaders God has given me to watch over my soul. I’m thankful for leaders who are honour-bound to God, delivering the truth of His Word. I’m grateful that God has graced them to obey His commands for my sake, guiding me to the place where God wants me to be, spiritually.
This book has profoundly impacted me, and reading it once is simply not enough to grasp its full weight. I praise God for daily removing the Laban from me and imparting His Spirit within me.
